The University of Florence is an important and influential centre for research and higher training in Italy, with 1800 lecturers and internal research staff, 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 research assistants and doctoral students.
The Department of Industrial Engineering (DIEF) is one of the largest departments at UNIFI facing all the academic and research activities in the field of Mechanical and Energy Engineering. The Heat Transfer and Combustion Group (HTC-Group) is a research unit part of the DIEF. HTC Group is led by Prof. Bruno Facchini and Prof. Antonio Andreini. Research activities in the field of turbomachinery heat transfer and combustion are carried out by experimental and numerical investigations.

CERFACS

The DLR Institute of Combustion Technology is an international renown research facility in the field of combustion science. It hosts approximately 80 scientists (diagnostics, combustion kinetics, CFD, GT cycles, fuels) and addresses research for modern gas turbines. The activities cover research from fundamental understanding up to technical application.
Team involved
The team involved in combustor testing at increased pressure within transition is lead by Dr. Klaus Peter Geigle. It includes the head of the test rig, two test engineers, two technicians and research scientists for the realization of the injector implementation and application of laser diagnostics.
